Finding Your Perfect Fit: A Guide
It all Starts with the Right Footwear
Selecting a Shoe Size Online
More than anything, you’re looking for quality, comfort, and fit. That’s why it’s so important to be fitted professionally at one of our retail stores whenever possible.
While a professional fitting is ideal, you may need to make a purchase decision online. For this reason, you’ll find guidelines below to help make a size selection based on standard sizing.
In the US and Canada, women's and men's foot lengths are measured in thirds-of-an-inch. Half-sizes add an additional sixth of an inch. SAS women's sizes begin at size 4 and run through size 12. SAS men's sizes run from size 6 to 16.
In-store fitting: four steps in the right direction
The truth is, a shoe is not truly “fitted” until it is on your foot. Here’s how store associates help you find that just-right fit.New Balance Albuquerque from Wayne Scheiner on Vimeo.
Step One: Tell us about you
What does your exercise program look like? Are you walking? Running? What are your goals, your limitations, your struggles? The more information you share, the better recommendation we can make.Step Two: Step right up.
All New Mexico Shoe locations use 3D scanning technology to give you personalized shoe and insole recommendations. The technology provides precise measurements of your foot length and width, and your arch height. An associate then evaluates your feet and gait. With an understanding of your exercise needs and goals, they’re ready to help you select your new shoes.Step Three: Selecting the shoe for you.
Our store associates work with you to find the right match, whether you try on two pairs of shoes or ten. From getting your shoes on to lacing them up the right way, your store associate guides you through the whole process. You can also learn about socks, gear, or apparel – anything that might benefit you and improve your experience.Step Four: Planning your next steps
Once you’re geared up and ready to go, it’s time to look ahead. Associates are happy to share information on training programs, tips, injury prevention, and recovery routines. After all, lacing up the right pair of shoes is only the start of your adventure.Shop Our Online CatalogWidths Size Chart
